01 / The brief
Most law firm sites open with a list of legal disciplines.
Ember Law Firm is a Netherlands commercial practice acting for entrepreneurs and foreign companies (including Chinese, UK and US businesses) in contract disputes, enforcement proceedings and cross-border conflicts.
A business owner with a breached contract does not search by area of law. They search by their own situation, and a discipline list makes them do the translation.
02 / Our approach
Who we work for, before what we do.
The first section after the hero is three audiences (Dutch entrepreneurs, businesses operating internationally, and foreign companies in Dutch disputes) so the reader identifies themselves before reading anything technical.
The areas of law follow underneath as a secondary grid, and a mid-page section makes the argument for acting early, which is the firm’s actual commercial message.
Phase 01
Structure
Audience-led entry designed ahead of the practice area grid.
Phase 02
Design
Deep green and cream with restrained photography.
Phase 03
Prototype
Practice area and consultation templates laid out for build.
03 / The outcome
A firm organised around the client’s problem.
Three audience entry points, a secondary practice area grid, client testimonials, a bilingual structure and a direct route to a strategy call.
