01 / The brief
When you sell design, the site is not the brochure. It is the portfolio.
Made by Innovation sells creative and technical work, which puts their own website in an awkward position: every visitor reads it as evidence. A merely competent site would have argued against them.
The brief was to build something that stood as a piece of work in its own right, while still doing the ordinary jobs: explaining services, showing the portfolio, and capturing enquiries.
02 / Our approach
Motion that demonstrates craft, and never more than that.
Sliders and animation were used where they showed something (work moving, a layout resolving) and left out everywhere they would have merely decorated. On an agency site, restraint reads as confidence.
Under the surface it is unremarkable on purpose: a clean portfolio structure, a blog, and a CMS the team can extend as the work grows, so the site does not date the moment they finish a new project.
Week 1
Structure
Portfolio taxonomy and service pages mapped before visual work began.
Week 1—2
Design and motion
Layouts built with animation only where it carried meaning.
Week 2
Portfolio and blog
Work showcase and blog wired into an editable CMS.
Week 3
SEO and launch
On-page SEO, map, social and a full responsive pass.
03 / The outcome
Three weeks, and a site that argues for them.
Thirteen deliverables including the portfolio showcase, blog and on-page SEO, live on WordPress and fully editable so new work goes up without a developer.
Amazing website, good turnaround, reasonable price.
